Description

Calenvi, a small motion sensor night light

Calenvi is a small rectangle with rounded corners and soft edges, in light brown or dark brown. A black dome sits toward one end of the front, and a narrow pale strip runs along the bottom edge. When someone approaches, a motion sensor turns on a warm LED glow, then turns it off after they leave, so it comes on without anyone reaching for it in the dark. It has no cord and is powered by a rechargeable battery that charges over USB. You can put it where you want without thinking about where your outlets are.

Where to put it

Put it on a wall on its metal ball base beside a stairway, along a hallway or on the landing outside the bedrooms, anywhere people walk through after dark. Natural suits a lighter room and Walnut a darker one. It is made for indoor use.

How to use

Calenvi runs on a rechargeable battery that charges over USB, and its motion sensor switches it on and off for you.

Charge it over USB.
Put it on a wall on its metal ball base along the way people walk, such as a stairway, a hallway or a landing.
Walk toward it: it turns on as someone approaches and off after they leave.

Good to know

The sensor covers a 120° angle, so point the light toward the way people come.
It is made for indoor use, so keep it inside the house.

What makes it good

It switches on by itself when someone walks up, so there's no reaching for it on a dark stairway at night.
Because it has a rechargeable battery, a hallway or landing with no outlet nearby can still have a light.
The warm light stays under 60 lumens, a low glow for night.
At 5.0 in (12.7 cm) long, it fits a narrow spot beside a bedroom door or on a stair landing.
You charge it over USB and then it runs on its battery, with no cord trailing along a hallway.

IT WAKES AS YOU APPROACH
