Description

Canimor, a handmade chunky knit chenille throw

Canimor is knitted by hand from chunky polyester chenille yarn. The texture comes from big loops laid in rows, with open gaps between the stitches. Over the arm of a sofa or the back of a chair, it falls into deep, rounded folds. At throw size, 51 × 63 in (130 × 160 cm), it is big enough to pull over your lap on a quiet evening. Sage green and white are both solid colors with no print, so what you notice is the knit itself. When it needs freshening up, you can put it in the washing machine on cold.

Where to use it

Fold it over the arm of the living room sofa, spread it across the seat, or leave it on an armchair in a reading corner. Between uses it can hang on a blanket ladder. At this throw size it covers a lap or a sofa seat. Keep it out of strong sun.

Size and details

Type: handmade rectangular throw blanket

Care

Canimor washes at home, by machine or by hand. Here is how to keep the chunky knit looking good.

What you need: Cold water and, ideally, a laundry bag.

Machine wash it cold with like colors, ideally inside a laundry bag, or wash it by hand in cold water.
Let it dry naturally, out of the sun.

Good to know

Wash it once before you use it for the first time, at a low temperature and ideally in a laundry bag.
Do not bleach it, iron it or soak it for a long time, and never scrub it with a brush.

Why You'll Love It

Hung over the arm of the living room sofa, the throw's chunky loops give plain upholstery some texture.
Keep it folded on the armchair in your reading corner and pull it over your lap when you sit down with a book.
Both colors are solid, so it sits easily next to patterned cushions on the sofa.
On a blanket ladder in the bedroom, the open knit becomes part of the room when nobody is using it.
After a winter on the sofa, you can wash it at home on a cold wash.
