Hang it beside the bed and the table top below stays free for your things. Light falls from under the stone dome onto the spot you reach for at night.

No cord trailing to an outlet: it is hardwired, and an electrician makes the connection.
Light out over your chair: the longer models hold the dome well away from the wall.
Wood to match your room: pick the lighter Wood Color or the darker Walnut Wood, both solid wood.

Description

Cenaltro, a hanging stone dome wall light

An arm reaches out from the wall and holds a dome of yellow travertine at its end, with the bulb showing just under the stone. Light drops onto whatever sits below and spreads a short way across the wall. It wires into the house circuit at 110 to 240 V, and an electrician makes that connection. The bulb is a G9 LED or an Edison type that you change yourself. The finish comes in the lighter Wood Color or the darker Walnut Wood, and the grain shows on both.

Where to put it

Beside a bed it stands in for a nightstand lamp, and a pair works with one on each side. Above an armchair or at the end of a sofa it gives a seating corner its own light. Keep it indoors; it is not waterproof, so keep it out of a bathroom.

Size and details

Type: Wall sconce with a hanging dome shade on a projecting arm
Sizes: Shade 5.9 in (15 cm) across and 7.1 in (18 cm) tall on both models. Wall projection: Model B 12.2 in (31 cm) on a curved arm, Model C 12.2 in (31 cm) plus a further 11.0 in (28 cm) on a folding arm
Material: Metal, solid wood and yellow travertine. Wood Color or Walnut Wood body, yellow travertine shade
Light source: G9 LED bulb or Edison bulb, user replaceable
Control: Works with a common external switch, not included
Power: Hardwired, AC 110 to 240 V
Mounting: Wall mounted, connected to the wall circuit by an electrician
Use: Indoor use only, not waterproof

How to install

This sconce connects to the house wiring, so an electrician puts it up.

What you need: An electrician to make the connection, plus a switch on the circuit if the spot does not already have one.

Have an electrician mount the sconce and wire it in.
Fit a G9 LED or Edison bulb and switch it on.

Good to know

A switch is not supplied. It works with a common switch on the circuit.
Indoor use only. It is not waterproof, so keep it out of a bathroom.

What makes it good

Put it beside a bed and it does what a nightstand lamp does, while the table stays free for a book and a glass of water.
Model B holds the dome 12.2 in (31 cm) from the wall, and Model C reaches further out on its second section, over a chair.
Light falls under the dome and washes the wall around it, which suits a living room in the evening better than an overhead light.
Two wood finishes to pick from, the lighter Wood Color or the darker Walnut Wood, each with the grain showing under the stone dome.
The bulb is a G9 LED or an Edison type you swap yourself, so the light stays your choice.

THE ELECTRICIAN WIRES IT ONCE

An electrician connects Cenaltro to the house circuit at 110 to 240 V and fixes the fitting in place. That is the only wiring work it asks for.

After that it is part of the wall. There is no plug, no battery and nothing to charge.

LIGHT POOLS UNDER THE DOME

The bulb sits just below the travertine dome, so the light lands on the surface under it and washes a short way onto the wall.

It lights the spot it hangs over rather than the whole room, and the bulb is one you can change yourself when it goes.

LIGHT OVER AN EMPTY NIGHTSTAND

On the wall beside the bed it does the work of a table lamp, so the nightstand keeps its surface for books and whatever else lives there.

The light comes from the wall above, so the table top stays clear and the light still lands where you reach.

Common questions

Do I need an electrician to put it up?

Yes. Cenaltro is hardwired, so an electrician wires it into the wall circuit and mounts the fitting.

What bulb does it take?

The socket takes a G9 LED bulb or an Edison bulb, and the bulb is user replaceable, so you can change it yourself when it goes.

What is the difference between Model B and Model C?

The shade is the same on both, 5.9 in (15 cm) across and 7.1 in (18 cm) tall. Model B holds it 12.2 in (31 cm) from the wall on a curved arm. Model C reaches 12.2 in (31 cm) and then a further 11.0 in (28 cm) on a second, folding section.

Which wood finish should I choose?

Wood Color is the lighter natural tone and Walnut Wood is darker. Model C comes in both finishes; Model B comes in Walnut Wood. Both are solid wood with the grain showing, so the choice comes down to which one sits closer to the furniture already in the room.

What is the shade made of?

Yellow travertine, a natural stone, formed into a dome 5.9 in (15 cm) across and 7.1 in (18 cm) tall. The surface carries the porous, banded markings that natural stone has.

Where does the light go?

The bulb sits just below the stone dome, so most of the light falls on the surface underneath and some spreads onto the wall around it. It lights the area under it rather than a whole room, so it works best where there is a main light too.

Can I put it in a bathroom?

It is made for indoor use and it is not waterproof, so keep it out of a bathroom. A bedroom or living room wall suits it.
