Description

Cerilan, a clear faceted rechargeable table lamp

Cerilan is a small clear lamp. A tapered faceted shade sits above a slender stem, and the stem stands on a square base with clear edges. When the lamp is off, the facets catch highlights. When it is on, light passes through them and spreads in angular patterns across whatever surface the lamp stands on. It runs on a rechargeable battery and charges over a USB cable. You turn it on and off with a touch switch on the lamp itself, and the clear body has no finish applied over it.

Where to put it

Put it on a nightstand, a living room side table or a hallway console. It runs on a battery, so a shelf with no outlet nearby works too. It is not waterproof. Set on a stack of books, it reads as decoration as much as a light.

Size and details

Material: clear faceted shade over a transparent body, no applied finish
Light source: LED, one light source
Control: touch switch for on and off, not a smart device
Power: rechargeable battery, charged with a USB cable
Use: not waterproof

How to use

Cerilan runs on its own battery, so you charge it, set it down where you want light and turn it on with a touch.

Connect the lamp to the USB cable to charge its rechargeable battery.
Once it is charged, disconnect the cable and stand the lamp on its base on a nightstand, side table or shelf.
Touch the switch to turn the light on, and touch it again to turn it off.
Pick the lamp up and carry it to another room whenever you want light there, since the battery powers it.

Good to know

It is not waterproof, so keep it away from water and spills.
It runs on a rechargeable battery charged with a USB cable, so charge it before you set it on a table or shelf with no outlet nearby.

What makes it good

The rechargeable battery means a living room shelf with no outlet nearby can still hold a lit lamp.
Running on its battery, it needs no cord, so nothing crosses the hallway console it stands on.
A touch switch on the lamp turns it on and off. With no smart features, you need no app or phone to run it.
Light through the clear faceted shade casts angular patterns on the surface and the wall nearby, so on a bedroom nightstand it works as decoration as well as a light.
It is self-contained with its own base, so you can move it from a side table to a shelf whenever you like.

LIT WITH NO OUTLET NEAR

A rechargeable battery powers the lamp, so it can stand on a shelf or a stack of books with no outlet near it.

You charge it with a USB cable and then put it where you want it.

IT ANSWERS TO A TOUCH

A touch switch turns the lamp on and off, so the control sits on the lamp itself.

It is not a smart device, so there is no app and nothing to pair with a phone.

A SHELF CAN HOLD IT

The lamp is self-contained. It stands on its own base, so a hallway console, a shelf or a side table can hold it.

Because it carries a rechargeable battery, you can pick it up and set it down in another room without planning around a socket.
