Description

Comirel, a ribbed white shade for the wall

Comirel is a rounded white shade with vertical ribs running down it. A short curved arm on a round back plate holds it off the wall. The shade's open end points down and away from the wall. The lighting comes from an LED. The body is iron, and the hardware comes in chrome or copper. The back plate sits flat against the wall. It is made for indoor rooms.

Where to put it

Put it on a hallway wall above a console. It also suits a bedroom, over a dresser whose top you want to keep clear, or the wall beside a living room sofa. At 5.3 in (13.5 cm) across and 11.8 in (30 cm) tall, it fits a narrow stretch of wall. It is made for indoor rooms.

How to install

This lamp goes on the wall, and the round back plate is the part that meets it.

What you need: a flat patch of wall about 5.3 in (13.5 cm) wide and 11.8 in (30 cm) tall, within reach of a wall outlet

Fix the back plate to the wall, then plug the cord into the wall outlet.

Good to know

Measure about 5.3 in (13.5 cm) of wall width and 11.8 in (30 cm) of height before you mark the spot.
The back plate sits flat to the wall, so choose a smooth flat patch for it.

What makes it good

It fixes to the wall, so a hallway keeps its floor clear and a console keeps its top.
The shade angles down and away from the wall above a living room sofa.

CHROME ON SHOW

The body is iron, and the metal comes in chrome or in copper. In a hallway of cool paint and mirror frames the chrome reads quietly; the copper goes with wood and warmer walls.

The plate that meets the wall is a round back plate, carrying the curved arm that holds the white ribbed shade.

LIGHT FALLS BELOW THE SHADE

This is a lamp that mounts on the wall, and the light it gives comes from an LED. The shade is turned so that its light goes below it.

The shade sits on a small arm that curves off the round back plate, with its open end facing down and away from the wall. The plate itself stays flat against the wall.

NOTHING STANDS ON THE DRESSER

The lamp is wall mounted, so it takes nothing from the dresser top under it. The surface stays free for a tray, a bowl or the things you set down at night.

It needs about 5.3 in (13.5 cm) of wall width and stands 11.8 in (30 cm) tall, which is a small piece of bedroom wall to give up.
