Cosineri Plug-in Wall Sconce

$216.00

Warm wood curves off your wall and lets a glowing shade hang out over your chair. It gives a reading corner or a bedside cozy light without a lamp taking up room.

No electrician, no new wiring: it plugs into a wall outlet on its own cord.
Light right where you sit: the shade is open at the bottom, so light falls on the seat below.
Works without a wall switch: an on/off switch sits right on the cord.

Description

Cosineri, curved wood arm with hanging shade

Cosineri is a tall wood panel in a walnut color that curves outward at the top. The shade hangs from that curve on a twisted cord, and the fittings are gold colored. Light falls from under the shade. The socket takes a bulb with an E26 or E27 base. Power comes from an outlet, and an inline switch turns the light on. All three models stand 25.2 in (64 cm) tall and differ only in the shade.

Where to put it

Put it above an armchair where you read, or beside a chair that has a side table. On a living room wall it works above one end of the sofa, and in a bedroom on the wall beside the bed.

Use: Indoor only, not waterproof

How to install

Cosineri mounts on the wall and takes its power from an outlet, so nothing about it joins your house wiring.

What you need: An outlet within reach of the 59 in (150 cm) cord. The socket takes a bulb with an E26 or E27 base.

Pick the spot and the height. Eye level, or just over the seating, suits it, roughly 60 in (152 cm) to 72 in (183 cm) from the floor.
Hold the lamp against the wall at that height and mark where the wooden section sits. The lamp stands 25.2 in (64 cm) tall, so check the shade hangs clear of a headboard or a shelf beside it.
Fix the wooden section to the wall.
Fit a bulb with an E26 or E27 base. LED and Edison types both work.
Plug the cord into the outlet and switch the light on.

Good to know

The bulb decides how warm and how bright the light reads, so choose it with the room in mind.
Indoor, dry rooms only. It is not waterproof.

What makes it good

Power comes from an outlet, so a quiet corner gets wall light without an electrician or a new circuit.
Mounted above an armchair, it leaves the reading corner its floor space.
The arm curves outward and holds the shade away from the wall, so the light drops onto what sits below it.
A replaceable bulb lets you pick the light a living room needs.
You choose the mounting height yourself, whether that is above the seating in a living room or beside the bed.

NO WIRING NO ELECTRICIAN

Cosineri takes its power from an outlet in the room, on a 59 in (150 cm) cord. That lets it go up on a finished wall in a living room where there is no light point.

The wooden section fixes to the wall and nothing joins the house circuit, so there is no box to cut into the plaster behind it.

IT LIGHTS THE BED BELOW

The bottom of the shade is open, so the light leaves it downward and lands on the bed below.

The curved arm holds the shade out from the wall, and the light falls on the pillow and the bedcover under it.

NO STANDING LAMP REQUIRED

The lamp sits on the wall above the armchair and its light comes down onto the seat, so the corner is lit for reading.

With the lamp on the wall, the floor in the corner stays clear and no standing lamp is needed beside the chair.

Common questions

Does it need any wiring or an electrician?

No. It runs from a standard outlet on a 59 in (150 cm) cord, and the wooden section is held to the wall, so nothing connects to your house electrics.

How do I turn it on and off?

There is a switch on the cord, so you turn the light on and off at the cord itself. Mount the lamp so the cord runs to an outlet you can reach.

What bulb does it take?

A bulb with an E26 or E27 base, LED or Edison. Pick one for the light you want in that room.

How high should I mount it?

Eye level or above the seat, roughly 60 in (152 cm) to 72 in (183 cm) from the floor. The lamp itself is 25.2 in (64 cm) tall, so allow for that when you mark the wall.

Which plug do I get?

It plugs into a wall outlet.

What is the difference between the models?

The shade. Model A has a flat saucer shade, Model C a white pleated cone and Model D a white bell. All three are 25.2 in (64 cm) high and 14.2 in (36 cm) long.

What is it made of?

The body is wood in a walnut color with metal fittings in a gold color.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is made for indoor use and it is not waterproof, so keep it out of a bathroom and in a dry room such as a bedroom or a living room.
