Lomaresi has a wide conical shade below a tall, narrow neck. Both sit on a slim jointed arm that comes off a narrow wall plate. The shade is open underneath, so the bulb casts a pool of light down below it, and some of that light falls on the wall nearby. When you want the light close, swing the arm out over a bed or a chair. Fold it back toward the wall when you are done. This is a plug-in lamp, and the cord runs to a wall outlet. You can get the metal in black, white or red.
