Lomavo Plug-in Wall Sconce

$238.00

You never see a bulb, only a warm glow along the edge of the stone and across the wall around it. Beside the bed it keeps the room calm and low lit at night.

No electrician needed: it plugs into a standard outlet, and nothing joins your house wiring.
Switch it on where you stand: the on and off switch is on the cord, not the fixture.
One that suits your wall: pick a small one for a nightstand or a large one for a wide wall.

Description

Lomavo, a travertine and wood wall light

A circular wood disc sits in front of a pale travertine back. It is set to one side, so part of the stone stays in view. The LED sits behind the disc, so the light shows on the stone edge and on the wall around it. The cord runs to a standard outlet, and an inline switch turns the light on and off. The front disc comes in dark walnut or a lighter wood tone. The travertine is natural, so the pitting and veining differ from one piece to the next.

Where to put it

Put it beside the bed in place of a table lamp, or above a console in a hallway. On a bare living room wall it gives a warm accent. You need an outlet within reach of the 59 in (150 cm) cord. It is for indoor use, not for bathrooms or outdoor spots.

How to install

Lomavo runs from a standard outlet, so putting it up is a wall job and nothing more.

What you need: Mounting hardware, and an outlet within reach of the 59 in (150 cm) cord.

Pick the spot and check the outlet, since the cord runs 59 in (150 cm) from the fixture.
Hold the sconce against the wall at the height you want and see how the cord falls toward the outlet.
Fix it to the wall with mounting hardware. Nothing joins your house wiring.
Plug it in and turn it on at the switch on the cord.

Good to know

The switch sits on the cord rather than on the fixture, so leave the cord where your hand can find it.
Travertine is natural stone. Dust it with a soft dry cloth and keep harsh cleaners away from it.

What makes it good

It runs from a standard outlet, so a bedroom or hallway wall with no light point can still have a lamp.
The LED is hidden behind the disc, so beside the bed you see a warm edge of stone and a glow on the wall.
Warm 3000K light keeps a living room or bedroom soft once evening comes.
The switch sits on the cord, so you turn the light on where you stand.
It comes in three heights, so one design covers a small nightstand wall and a wide living room wall.

THE PLUG DOES THE WORK

Lomavo runs from a standard outlet on a 59 in (150 cm) cord, so a hallway wall with no light point can carry a lamp.

The fixture fixes to the wall and the plug does the rest. It plugs into a wall outlet and runs on AC 110 to 240V.

NO BULB IN VIEW

The LED sits behind the wood disc. What shows is warm light along the travertine edge and a soft spread on the wall around it.

At 3000K the light stays warm, so the wall beside the bed holds a low glow at night.

SHALLOW ENOUGH TO WALK PAST

Every size projects 2.6 in (6.5 cm) from the wall, so it fits a living room wall you walk past and the surface under it stays free for other things.

The smallest is 11.8 in (30 cm) tall and the largest 19.7 in (50 cm), so you can match the disc to the wall you have.

Common questions

Does it need wiring or an electrician?

No. It plugs into a standard outlet on a 59 in (150 cm) cord and runs on AC 110 to 240V, so the wall work is the only work.

How does it mount on the wall?

It fixes to the wall with mounting hardware and stands 2.6 in (6.5 cm) off it in every size. The fixture plugs in, so the wall fixing is the only work.

What color is the light?

Warm white at 3000K. That is the light in the versions sold here, and the glow reads warm on the stone edge and on the wall around the disc.

Which size should I choose?

The smallest is 9.8 in (25 cm) across and 11.8 in (30 cm) tall at about 15 W, the middle one 13.8 in (35 cm) across and 15.7 in (40 cm) tall at about 22 W, the largest 17.7 in (45 cm) across and 19.7 in (50 cm) tall at about 30 W. Pick the small one for a nightstand wall and the large one for a wide bare wall.

How long is the cord and where is the switch?

The cord is 59 in (150 cm) long and the on and off switch sits on it, so the outlet you use decides where the sconce can go.

Can I put it in a bathroom?

No. It is made for indoor use and it is not rated for bathrooms or outdoor spots. A bedroom, hallway or living room wall suits it.

What is it made of?

Yellow travertine with a wood front disc, in a dark walnut tone or a lighter wood tone. The stone is natural, so the pitting and veining differ from one piece to the next.

How do I clean the travertine?

Dust it gently with a soft dry cloth. Leave harsh cleaners off the stone.
