Description

Lonavesi, a glass globe on a wood bracket

Lonavesi holds a white glass globe 5.3 in (13.5 cm) across in a curved cradle on a wall bracket of nature oak or dark walnut. Since the globe sits clear of the wall, light spreads all around it and washes the plaster in a soft pool. It takes a G9 bulb, so you pick the brightness and the tone of white you want. A slim cord runs to a wall outlet, with an inline switch on the cord and a pull cord at the lamp.

Where to put it

Put it beside a bed in place of a table lamp, or one on each side of a headboard. It works on a hallway wall and in a living room corner, as long as an outlet sits within reach of the 59 in (150 cm) cord. Indoor use only.

Size and details

Type: plug-in wall lamp with a glass globe

Mounting: wood bracket fixed to the wall with the hardware provided, no wiring
Use: indoor only, not waterproof
In the box: mounting hardware provided

How to install

Lonavesi mounts on the wall and plugs into an outlet. Nothing connects to your house electrics.

What you need: the mounting hardware provided.

Pick the spot and check that a wall outlet is within reach of the cord.
Fix the wood bracket in place with the hardware that comes with it.
Hang the glass globe in the cradle.
Plug the cord in and switch the lamp on at the inline switch or the pull cord.

Good to know

The globe is 5.3 in (13.5 cm) across and stands out from the wall on the cradle, so leave clear wall around it.
It is an indoor lamp and it is not waterproof.

What makes it good

It runs from a wall outlet, so a bedroom wall with no wiring behind it can still carry a lamp.
The glass globe is lit from inside and reads as an even ball of light, which keeps a bedside soft to look at.
The inline switch on the cord and the pull cord at the lamp give you two ways to turn it off without crossing the room.
The G9 socket takes an LED or an Edison bulb, so a living room that doubles as a work corner can go brighter or warmer when you swap it.
At 5.3 in (13.5 cm) across it suits a narrow strip of wall, such as the gap between a headboard and a corner, or a hallway that a larger fitting would crowd.

NO LIGHT POINT NEEDED

The wood bracket mounts on the wall and the globe sits in its curved cradle. Nothing is joined to the house wiring and no electrician is involved.

The cord runs to a wall outlet, so a hallway wall with no light point on it can still have a lamp.

THE GLOBE GLOWS ALL ROUND

The cradle carries the glass globe out from the wall, so the light goes all round it and settles on the plaster.

In a living room corner that gives an even wash of light beside an armchair in the evening.

A GLOBE REPLACES THE LAMP

The bracket carries the lamp on the wall beside the bed, so the table below is left for a book and a glass of water.

The globe is 5.3 in (13.5 cm) across, small enough for the strip of wall between a headboard and a corner.

Common questions

Does it need wiring or an electrician?

No. You mount the wood bracket using the hardware provided, hang the globe in the cradle and plug the cord into a wall outlet. Nothing joins your house wiring.

What wood finishes does it come in?

Nature oak or dark walnut, both with a white glass globe and a solid wood bracket.

What bulb does it use?

It has a G9 socket that takes an LED or an Edison bulb, and the bulb is replaceable. That lets you choose how bright the lamp is and whether the light reads warm or white.

How long is the cord?

The cord is 59 in (150 cm) long, so measure from the spot you want to the nearest outlet before you fix the bracket. The lamp runs on AC 110 to 240 V and plugs into a wall outlet.

How do I turn it on and off?

Two ways. There is an inline on/off switch on the cord and a pull cord switch at the lamp, so you can reach it from the bed or on your way past.

How does the globe sit on the bracket?

The glass globe rests in the curved cradle that steps out from the wall bracket, so it stands clear of the plaster. Leave open wall around it rather than tucking it into a corner.

Can I put it in a bathroom?

It is made for indoor use and it is not waterproof, so keep it out of a bathroom. A bedroom or hallway wall suits it.

Is it big?

The globe is 5.3 in (13.5 cm) across and 5.3 in (13.5 cm) high, so it suits a narrow wall beside a bed or along a hallway where a wider fitting would feel heavy.
