It hangs by a cord from a curved solid wood holder, and the arm stands 9.8 in (25 cm) tall and reaches 8.3 in (21 cm) out from the wall. You can make the cord shorter to set how low the lantern sits. Fit your own bulb, plug the cord in and turn the knob switch to light it. The switch only turns the light on and off, with no dimming.
