Mivorel Rechargeable Wall Sconce

Mivorel, a small square battery wall light

Mivorel is a flat black square that sits close to the wall. Behind the front panel are a white layer and a smaller rear housing. With the light on, the front stays dark and the glow spreads past all four edges onto the wall around it. A 12 W LED gives 1200 lumens. Power comes from a rechargeable battery that you charge with a USB cable, so you don't need an outlet near the spot you choose. A switch turns it on and off; it does not dim. The body and the square shade are black aluminum.

Where to put it

Put it on a hallway or entryway wall with no outlet close by, or on the wall beside the bed instead of a table lamp. In a living room it brings a glow to a bare stretch of wall. It is small enough for the narrow space beside a door frame or between two pictures.

Good to know

• It does not dim, so choose a spot where you want its full light.
• It runs on a rechargeable battery, so the spot you choose on the wall does not need to be near an outlet.

• A hallway wall with no outlet can still have a light, since it runs on a rechargeable battery.
• The front panel stays unlit and the light spreads around the edges, which gives a bedroom wall a glow at night.
• With a listed size of 5.9 in (15 cm), it suits a narrow strip of wall beside a door frame.
• A switch turns the light on and off.
• With its black aluminum body and square shade, it suits a modern living room or a bedroom with dark fittings.
