Monterla Plug-in Wall Sconce

Monterla, a flared metal dish wall lamp

Monterla is a shallow metal dish, 5.9 in (15 cm) across, that flares out from a narrow socket at its center. A smaller round canopy sits behind it against the wall. One E27 LED bulb fits into the middle and faces straight out into the room with nothing over it. The cord plugs into a wall outlet. The iron body comes in red, chrome, black, white or gold.

Where to put it

Put it on the wall beside the bed, on a hallway wall by the door, or above a sideboard in the living room. It needs an outlet the cord can reach.

• Type: wall lamp
• Sizes: 5.9 in (15 cm) across, 5.1 in (13 cm) high
• Base: smooth circular dish shaped metal base
• Material: iron body, in red, chrome, black, white or gold
• Light source: one E27 LED light source, bulb not included
• Dimming: not dimmable
• Control: not a smart device
• Mounting: wall mounted, self contained, no assembly required
• Use: indoor
• In the box: bulbs not included

The lamp fixes to the wall and takes its power from an outlet, so nothing here involves your house wiring.

What you need: an E27 LED bulb, since none comes in the box

1. Fix the lamp to the wall where you want the light.
2. Fit an E27 LED bulb into the socket at the center.
3. Plug the cord into a nearby outlet.

Good to know

• No assembly is required.
• It is not water resistant.

• It plugs into an outlet, so a bedroom wall that was never wired can still carry a light.
• It is not a smart device, so there is nothing to pair and no app to open before the hallway is lit.
• You pick the E27 LED bulb yourself, so the bulb on show in a living room is one you like.
• At 5.9 in (15 cm) across it fits a narrow stretch of wall beside a bedroom door where a floor lamp would not fit.
• The iron body comes in red, chrome, black, white or gold, so it can sit quietly in a hallway or stand out above a living room sideboard.
