Nedrila Rechargeable Wall Sconce

$128.00

Even unlit, a thin black line on the wall gives a hallway or entryway a clean, drawn look. Switched on, warm light spreads up and down the wall around it.

Light a wall with no socket nearby: a rechargeable battery runs it, and you charge it with a USB cable.
No bright spot staring back at you: the front of the rod stays dark while the light lands on the wall.
Pick the height your wall calls for: the rod comes in a shorter and a longer length.

Description

Nedrila, a slim vertical rod wall light

Nedrila is a narrow aluminum rod held just in front of a circular wall base 3.9 in (10 cm) across. The light goes back onto the wall above and below the base while the front of the rod stays dark, so it lights the corner without shining in your eyes. The battery inside is rechargeable: top it up with the USB cable, then use the remote to move the light from warm 3000K to cool 6000K. The finish is black with a low sheen.

Where to put it

Put a pair either side of a dressing mirror in a bedroom, or one on the wall beside the bed for a soft light at night. It suits a hallway or entryway with no socket nearby, and in a living room it gives you a second light for the evening. Indoor use only.

How to install

Nothing about putting this sconce up touches your house electrics.

What you need: the mounting hardware supplied, and a drill for a textured wall.

Hold it against the wall and check the height. More of the rod stands above the base than below it, so set the base lower than the middle of the lit area you want.
Mark the fixing points on the wall, drill if your wall needs it, and fix the round base to the wall with the mounting hardware.
Switch it on and set the brightness and the color of the light from the remote.

Good to know

The light falls on the wall above and below the base, so leave clear wall at the top and the bottom.
Indoor use only.

What makes it good

It is wireless, so you can light a hallway or bedroom wall that your house wiring never reached.
One remote sets warm 3000K for a living room in the evening and cool 6000K when you want clearer light at a mirror.
The light lands behind the rod and spreads along the wall, which is what you want beside a bed or next to a dressing mirror.
The 19.7 in (50 cm) rod pairs either side of a mirror, while the 31.5 in (80 cm) rod suits a tall entryway wall.
The 8 W LED is built into the rod, so you have no bulb to fit.

NO OUTLET NEEDED

A battery powers it, so it can go on a hallway or entryway wall with no socket anywhere near.

The base fixes to the wall and there is nothing to plug in or connect. It is cordless and lights the wall on its own charge.

CHANGE THE LIGHT FROM THE REMOTE

The remote moves the light between warm 3000K and cool 6000K from where you are sitting, so one lamp covers a bright afternoon and a quiet evening.

Warm for the evening, and cooler when you want the room to read brighter.

A PAIR BESIDE THE MIRROR

One on each side of a dressing mirror puts light on both sides of the glass instead of one hard light overhead.

The 19.7 in (50 cm) size suits this, and the light falls on the wall above and below each 3.9 in (10 cm) base while the front of the rod stays dark.

Common questions

Does it need wiring or an electrician?

No. The lamp holds its own charge and the base fixes to the wall, so there is no wiring behind the wall and nobody to call in.

How does it attach to the wall?

The lamp's round base fixes to the wall with the mounting hardware supplied. Nothing connects to your house electrics.

How do I charge it?

Plug the USB cable into the lamp to charge it.

Can I change the color of the light?

Yes. The remote moves the light anywhere between warm 3000K and cool 6000K.

How bright is it?

880 lumens. The light falls on the wall around the lamp, so it reads as ambient light in a room that also has a main light.

Which size should I pick?

The 19.7 in (50 cm) lamp suits a bedside or a mirror wall where you want one on each side. The 31.5 in (80 cm) lamp is for a taller wall where a short one would look lost. Both sit on the same 3.9 in (10 cm) base.

Can I put it in a bathroom?

No. It is an indoor wall light, so keep it out of a bathroom.

What is it made of?

Aluminum, in a black finish with a low sheen. The front of the rod stays dark while the light falls on the wall around it.
