Even switched off, the staggered rods look like a slim piece of wall art in gold or black. Switched on, it gives the living room a warm glow that spreads softly instead of glaring.

No new wiring to arrange: the cord goes straight into a wall outlet.
No bulb to buy first: the LED light is built in.
Your side table stays clear: it lives on the wall instead of on the table.

Description

Nemirsa, a vertical sconce with glowing rods

Nemirsa is a slender wall light. Staggered rods sit beside pale tubular diffusers, and a rectangular housing runs across the middle. Light comes from the sections above and below that housing and spreads onto the wall as a soft halo, not a hard beam. This is a plug-in sconce: the cord runs to a wall outlet, and a touch switch turns it on and off. The light is warm. It isn't dimmable, so it always comes on at one steady level. You can pick a gold or black finish to suit the wall behind it.

Where to put it

In a living room, put one beside the sofa or next to the television to give the wall a soft glow in the evening. In a bedroom, mount it on the wall beside the bed in place of a table lamp. Pick a spot where the cord can reach a wall outlet.

What makes it good

It plugs into a wall outlet, so you can add a wall light beside the sofa in your living room without new wiring.
A touch switch turns it on and off, which keeps evenings by the television simple.
Light spreads above and below the central housing, so the wall itself glows in a living room or bedroom.
Because it's fixed to the wall, your side table or nightstand stays free for your things.
Gold suits a warm-toned living room. Black stands out against a pale bedroom wall.
