Nevaline Wall Sconce

Nevaline, a travertine sconce with glass globe

Nevaline puts a white glass globe across the straight edge of a half moon of travertine. The stone is yellow travertine, with open pores and small cavities across its face, so the back of the lamp carries real texture rather than a flat panel. The shade is frosted glass, which spreads the light instead of showing a bright point. The lamp is 9.1 in (23 cm) wide and 11.8 in (30 cm) high, and it fixes to the wall.

Where to put it

Put it on the wall beside the bed. A pair either side of a dressing mirror in a bedroom works too. In a living room, set it on the wall by an armchair, or use it on a stair landing where a floor lamp would crowd the space. It is rated IP20 and not waterproof, so keep it to indoor rooms.

Good to know

• It is rated IP20 and not waterproof, so keep it to indoor rooms.
• The lamp is not dimmable.

• The frosted globe spreads the light of the bulb, which works well on a bedroom wall beside the pillows.
• The light comes off the wall, so the table beside a living room armchair stays clear.
• Yellow travertine with open pores gives the lamp a natural face, and the white globe keeps it from feeling heavy on a hallway wall.
• At 9.1 in (23 cm) across, it fits a narrow strip of wall between a door and a corner.
• It runs on a single G9 bulb, rated 4 W with a 60 W maximum.
