Nocarel Rechargeable Wall Sconce

$98.00

Point the light at your book and a small pool falls on the page while the rest of the bedroom stays dim. The head turns and tilts, so the light lands where you are reading.

Goes on a wall with no wiring: a rechargeable battery runs it, charged from a laptop, power bank or USB adapter.
Adjust it from bed: the remote dims it and switches between warm, neutral and cool white.
Blends with a dark or pale wall: it comes in matte black or matte white.

Description

Nocarel, a small adjustable wall spotlight

Nocarel is a shallow round fixture 3.1 in (8 cm) across, with a short cylinder carried in front of the base on a pivot. The head turns and tilts down, so the light gathers in a pool on the wall and on whatever sits below it. It runs cordless and charges from a USB cable. Touch the base or pick up the remote to set the brightness and move between warm, neutral and cool white. The body is metal and acrylic with a matte finish, in black or white.

Where to put it

Beside the bed at reading height is the obvious spot. Aimed at a framed print it gives accent light in a living room, and it suits the wall next to a dressing mirror or a hallway wall where no socket is near. Over a desk, tilt the head down onto your work.

How to install

This spotlight goes up on its own and nothing connects to your house electrics.

What you need: The lamp, the USB cable and the mounting hardware for your wall.

Charge the lamp over USB, from a wall adapter, a laptop or a power bank.
Hold it against the wall and check the height, low enough at a bedside that the light reaches the page.
Fix the base to the wall with the mounting hardware.
Turn and tilt the head to aim the light, then use the touch sensor or the remote to choose the color of the light and how bright it is.

Good to know

The base carries the touch sensor, so mount it within reach if you want to work the lamp without picking up the remote.
Aim the head last. With the base up, turn and tilt it until the pool of light sits on the book, the mirror or the picture you want lit.

What makes it good

It runs on its own battery, so you can put light on a wall that no cord reaches and nothing has to be added to the room.
Because the head turns and tilts, you can drop the light onto a book at the bedside or onto the work in front of you at a desk.
Warm white suits the evening while neutral or cool white gives clearer light at a dressing mirror, and you choose the color by touch or from the remote.
The whole fixture is only 3.1 in (8 cm) across, so it takes very little wall and fits a narrow strip beside a bed or the space next to a framed picture in a hallway.
It charges over USB, so a power bank or a laptop tops it up when there is no adapter to hand.

Nocarel black cordless wall lamp casting warm light across a clear hallway wall

NOTHING RUNS FROM THE BASE

A battery inside the lamp does the work, so the wall you pick needs no socket and no wiring behind it.

The round base sits flat against the wall with nothing trailing from it to a power point. Charge it over USB from a wall adapter, a laptop or a power bank.

THE HEAD TURNS AND TILTS

The head sits on a short pivot. Turn it on the base, tilt it down, and the light falls where you point it. You can re-aim it later without taking the base off the wall.

Aimed at a framed print, the pool of light stays on the picture while the rest of the living room keeps its low light.

IT TAKES ONLY WALL SPACE

Put it on the wall beside a dressing mirror and the light comes from the side, close to where you are looking. The table underneath keeps its full surface.

The fixture is 3.1 in (8 cm) across, so it takes a narrow strip of wall next to the frame and leaves the tabletop free for what you keep on it.

Common questions

Does it need wiring or an electrician?

No. The lamp runs on its own battery and the base fixes straight to the wall, so there is no wiring to run and no electrician to book.

How does it attach to the wall?

The round base fixes flat against the wall with mounting hardware. There is no cable to run, so the wall you choose does not have to have power near it.

How do I charge it?

It charges over USB. One end of the cable goes into the charging port, the other into a USB wall adapter, a laptop or a power bank.

Can I dim it and change the color of the light?

Yes. A touch on the base or a press on the remote dims it, and the light switches between three colors: 3000K warm, 4000K neutral and 6000K cool.

Is there a remote?

Yes. A wireless remote comes with it, and the base has a touch sensor as well, so you can work the lamp from your chair or at the lamp itself.

Can I aim the light?

Yes. The head sits on a pivot, so it turns on the base and tilts down. Once the base is on the wall you can move the light onto a book or a desk without moving the lamp.

Can I read by it?

Yes, for close reading. The head throws a pool of light onto the page, so aim it at what you are reading.

Can it go in a bathroom?

It is made for indoor use and it is not waterproof, so keep it out of a bathroom. A bedroom, hallway or living room wall suits it.
