Nolesira, a cordless light bar for artwork

Nolesira is a narrow tube held in front of a round wall base by a short angled support. The lit strip runs along the underside, so the light falls on the frame or the mirror glass below it. It is rechargeable and charges over USB, so there is no wiring to do. The wireless remote turns the brightness down for the evening, and it shifts the light from warm to cool when you want to see a picture clearly. The body comes in matte black, brushed gold, brushed nickel and aged bronze.

Where to put it

It works over framed art in a living room or along a hallway. Above a dressing table mirror in a bedroom it puts the light where you use it. Keep it indoors. A frame that stands well out from the wall can leave the top of a picture in shadow.

How to install

Nolesira goes up without an electrician and nothing connects to your house electrics. The round base fixes to the wall and the bar sits above the picture or the mirror.

What you need: Mounting hardware, and the USB cable that comes with the light.

Hold the light against the wall above the picture or the mirror and check the height. The strip faces down, so the light lands below the bar.
Measure how far the frame stands out from the wall. A deep frame can leave a shadow across the top of the picture.
Fix the round base to the wall with mounting hardware.
Set the brightness and the light color from the remote once it is up.

Good to know

Both sizes sit 6.1 in (15.5 cm) out from the wall, so leave that much clear space in front of the wall above the picture or the glass.
The remote sets an auto off timer, which is worth using on a light you tend to walk away from.

Does it need wiring or an outlet?

No. It charges over USB and runs cordless on the wall, so there is no cord to an outlet and no wiring to run behind it.

How do I charge it?
