Nuvelira, a tilting stone light and planter

Nuvelira is a narrow upright block of travertine, 9.1 in (23 cm) tall, with a short walnut head near the top behind a white acrylic face. Turn the head and the light runs down the stone, or send it sideways along the wall. Touch the lamp to switch it on and the light holds a warm 3000K. The head detaches for charging with the USB cable that comes with it. The matte black coating leaves the pores of the stone showing, and the open top is a planter you fill yourself.

Where to put it

Beside the bed it lights the head of the bed and leaves the nightstand clear. It suits a hallway, or a narrow strip beside a reading chair. In a living room it puts light into one corner in the evening. Indoor only, and not waterproof.

How to install

Nuvelira goes up without an electrician, and the head detaches without tools for charging and for setting the angle.

What you need: the USB cable that comes with the lamp, and a small plant if you want greenery on top.

Hold the body against the wall and settle on the height. The head sits near the top, so allow for where you want the light to land.
Fit the body to the wall at that height.
Set the head at the angle you want, aimed downward or out into the room.
Touch the lamp to switch the light on.
If you want greenery, set a small potted or trailing plant into the planter at the top. Plants are not included.

Good to know

Under the matte black coating the stone is genuine travertine, so its natural pores still read through the finish.
The lamp is for indoor use and is not waterproof, so keep water off the body.
