Description

Rimavio, rechargeable wall sconces with fabric shades

Rimavio's tapered fabric shade sits above a slim metal stem that extends below a round backplate and ends in a small decorative tip. A short arm holds the stem away from the wall, so it gains depth without widening the profile. When lit, the shade glows and casts light onto the wall above and below it. The battery sits inside the bulb: you charge it with the included USB cable and use the remote for control. Black gives it a dark outline against the wall, while Gold has a warmer metal finish.

Where to put it

Place the pair beside a bed to keep lamps off the nightstands, or use them around artwork in a living room. The long stems also suit a hallway wall or a spot near a fireplace. In a reading nook, the glowing shades provide a layer of ambient light.

How to install

The sconces mount on the wall without a connection to household wiring.

What you need: Only the parts that come with the sconces.

Charge each bulb using the included USB cable.
Fix each sconce to the wall with the mounting hardware.
Use the remote to switch on the light and select its color.

Good to know

Each sconce is 19.7 in (50 cm) tall, with a stem that extends well below the backplate.
The light is a rechargeable E27 LED bulb with its battery inside, rather than a light built into the fixture.

What makes it good

Battery power lets you add accent light to a hallway without connecting the sconces to wall wiring.
The fabric shade glows to provide ambient light around artwork in a living room.
Place the set of two on opposite sides of a bed or fireplace for matching lights.
Use the remote to switch from white light to RGB color and change the mood in a lounge.
When your bedroom light needs a new bulb, you can replace the E27 LED bulb separately from the fixture.
