Description

Tarelio, a black gooseneck wall sconce that plugs in

Tarelio has a round black backplate on the wall. From it, a curved gooseneck arm rises up and over, then turns down into a plain tapered socket cover. A very shallow conical shade spreads out above one clear vintage-style LED bulb. The bulb faces down and sits just below the rim, so you see it as part of the design. This is a plug-in sconce, and its cord goes into a wall outlet, which lets you add a wall light without new wiring in the wall. The 6 W bulb is included, and the whole fixture is finished in black.

Where to put it

Put it on the wall beside the bed instead of a table lamp, or above an entry bench in a hallway. In a living room, try the wall beside an armchair or above a sideboard. It is made for indoor use.

How to install

Tarelio fixes to the wall by its round backplate and takes its power from a wall outlet.

Fix the round backplate to the wall where you want the light.
Fit the included vintage-style LED bulb into the socket under the shade.
Plug the cord into a wall outlet.

Good to know

It is made for indoor use.
The 9.8 in (25 cm) height is measured without the bulb, and the bulb sits below the rim of the shade, so leave a little extra room under the light when you choose the spot.

What makes it good

Because it plugs into a wall outlet, you can put a sconce on a bedroom wall without any new wiring.
The vintage-style LED bulb is included and shows below the shade, which makes it part of the look in a living room.
Fixed to the wall beside the bed, it leaves the nightstand free for a book and a glass of water.
Over an entry bench in a hallway, it keeps the seat clear because the whole light sits on the wall.
On a pale painted wall in a hallway or living room, the black backplate, arm and shade show up clearly.

GOOSENECK LIGHT WITHOUT NEW WIRING

Tarelio is a plug in sconce. Its exposed bulb glows above a wooden desk and chair, with a book and drinking glass on the desk.

The round backplate is 4.7 in (12 cm) across, and the curved gooseneck arm holds the shade out in front of it.

LIGHT AIMED AT THE SIDEBOARD

The curved gooseneck arm rises from the round backplate and then turns down, so the bulb faces downward under the shallow shade and lights the sideboard beneath it.

The fixture is 9.8 in (25 cm) tall down to the rim of the shade, and the clear bulb sits just below that rim.

FREES THE ENTRY BENCH

The sconce fixes to the wall by its round backplate, so no part of it stands on the bench below.

The shade is 8.7 in (22 cm) across and the fixture measures 13.4 in (34 cm) horizontally.
