Tomirel Rechargeable Wall Sconce

Tomirel, a rechargeable sconce with pleated shade

Tomirel has a tapered, pleated fabric shade held out from the wall on a curved gold arm, fixed to a round backplate. The bulb inside glows through the pleats, and light also falls from the open bottom. That bulb is a rechargeable LED, so the sconce runs cordless on battery and you charge it over USB. With the remote you turn it on, dim it smoothly from full brightness down to a low glow, and switch between warm white, cool white or 12 colors. The remote also sets a timer that turns it off. The body is plated iron with a gold finish.

Where to put it

Put one on the wall beside the bed so the nightstand stays clear, or hang one on each side of a headboard. It also works on a hallway or landing wall with no outlet nearby, and on a living room wall where you want a low light in the evening with the main light off.

Tomirel goes up on the wall and runs on its rechargeable bulb, so nothing connects to your house electrics.

1. Put the sconce together; it needs some assembly before it goes on the wall.
2. Fix the round metal backplate to the wall where you want the light.
3. Charge the LED bulb by USB cable.
4. Set the bulb in the fixture.
5. Switch it on from the remote, then set the brightness and the color of the light.

Good to know

• Set the timer for half an hour, one hour or two hours and it switches itself off, which suits falling asleep with it on.
• It is not water resistant, so keep it out of a bathroom; a bedroom or hallway wall suits it instead.

• Because it runs on a rechargeable battery, you can put a sconce on a hallway or bedroom wall that has no outlet.
• Stepless dimming takes it from full brightness down to a low glow for a late evening in the living room.
• Warm white suits a bedside at night, and in a living room you can change the mood with 12 colors and the Smooth and Flash modes.
• The timer switches it off after half an hour, one hour or two hours, so you can fall asleep in the bedroom with it on.
• Mounted on the wall beside the bed, it leaves the whole nightstand free for books and a glass of water.
