Description

Tovessi, a disc light with adjustable reach

Tovessi has a shallow disc beneath a glossy brown ball. It comes in beige or green. A reflective silver arm connects it to the round wall backplate. The arm folds in and extends out, so the light comes to you and the furniture stays where it is. Light spreads across the lit face of the shade and falls onto the surface below. The cord plugs into an outlet and has an inline switch to turn the lamp on and off.

Where to put it

Place it beside a nightstand in the bedroom or above a reading chair in the living room. The arm also suits a corner where you want a low pool of light on the wall. This fixture is for indoor use and is not waterproof.

How to install

This lamp mounts on the wall with no connection to the wiring inside it.

What you need: An outlet within reach of the cord

Fix the round backplate to the wall at the height you want.
Connect the power cord to a compatible outlet.
Position the arm and turn the light on with the inline switch.

Good to know

Check that the cord reaches your outlet from the intended mounting position.
Keep the fixture indoors and away from water.

What makes it good

No electrical work in the wall: the cord plugs into a nearby outlet.
Reach the light out to where you need it, or fold the arm back toward the wall.
3000K warm white falls from the underside of the disc onto a table top or a page below.
Beside the bed, the light comes from the wall instead of the table top.
The LED is built in, so there is no bulb to choose or fit.

THE CORD SETS THE PLACEMENT

The lamp mounts on the wall and takes its power from an outlet, so it does not join the wiring inside the wall.

The cord measures 59 in (150 cm), so mount the lamp within that distance of the outlet you plan to use.

LIGHT FALLS STRAIGHT DOWN

The shade is a shallow disc 7.9 in (20 cm) across; the fixture is 4.7 in (12 cm) high. Light runs across its underside and drops downward, so it lands on the wall and on whatever sits below it rather than at eye level.

The light comes from an integrated LED of about 25W, warm white at 3000K as standard. An inline switch on the cord turns it on and off where the lamp hangs.

NO FLOOR LAMP NEEDED

The lamp fixes to the wall on its round backplate and runs from an outlet, so the light next to a reading chair comes off the wall and the floor beside the chair stays clear.

Light spreads across the underside of the 7.9 in (20 cm) disc and falls downward onto the chair and the floor below. An inline switch on the cord turns it on and off.
