Velirsa Plug-in Wall Sconce

$69.00

Light spreads out from the center of a pale, veined disc and drifts softly onto the wall around it. You see a calm glow, never a bare bulb.

Skip the electrician: the cord plugs into an outlet, so nothing gets wired into the wall.
No bulb to buy: the LED is built right into the sconce.
Metal that matches your room: pick black or gold for the arm, plate and cap.

Description

Velirsa, a round glowing disc for walls

Velirsa is a round, pale shade with soft, irregular veining. A slender metal arm rises from the center and curves back over the top of the disc. At its middle, a small round cap sits on a larger plate. The light comes from an integrated LED and glows outward from the center through the shade. The cord plugs into a wall outlet. You can choose black or gold metal and one of four diameters, from 6.3 in (16 cm) to 11.8 in (30 cm).

Where to put it

Use one beside the bed instead of a table lamp, or hang one on each side of a headboard. A small disc fits the strip of wall next to a hallway door, and a larger one makes a focal light on a living room wall near the sofa. Pick a wall with an outlet within reach. It is made for indoor use.

Size and details

Type: wall sconce
Sizes: 6.3 in (16 cm), 7.9 in (20 cm), 9.8 in (25 cm) or 11.8 in (30 cm) across
Material: pale translucent veined shade with metal detailing, black or gold finish
Light source: integrated LED
Power: plug-in, the cord plugs into a wall outlet
Mounting: wall mounted, surface mounted

How to install

Velirsa is wall mounted, and its cord plugs into an outlet.

Pick a spot on an indoor wall where the cord reaches an outlet.
Fix the sconce to the surface of the wall.
Connect the cord to the outlet.

Good to know

Choose the 6.3 in (16 cm) or 7.9 in (20 cm) disc for a narrow wall and the 9.8 in (25 cm) or 11.8 in (30 cm) disc for a wider one.
It is made for indoor use and rated IP20, and a bedroom, living room or hallway suits it.

What makes it good

It plugs into an outlet, so you can add a light to a living room or bedroom wall without opening up the plaster.
Light spreads from the center of the pale, veined disc onto the wall around it, a soft look for a living room in the evening.
Mounted on the wall beside the bed, it leaves the bedside table free for books and a glass of water.
The 6.3 in (16 cm) and 7.9 in (20 cm) discs fit a narrow hallway wall or the strip beside a doorway. The 9.8 in (25 cm) and 11.8 in (30 cm) discs fill a wider living room wall.
Black metal suits a pale, modern room, and gold looks good in a bedroom with wood furniture.
