Vemirsa LED Wall Sconce

Vemirsa, a slim wall light for reading

Vemirsa is a long rectangular plate with rounded corners and a slim cylinder angling out from one end, 10.6 in (27 cm) end to end. The head adjusts, so you can bring the light down onto a page, while the wall behind the fixture picks up a wider glow. It runs on mains power. Narrow controls sit beside the head and switch the light on and off. The body is iron, in a matte black finish or a white finish.

Where to put it

Vemirsa is listed for indoor use, and inside the house it goes on a bedroom wall over a nightstand where the table below stays clear for a book and a glass. Above a home office desk it sits at the height you work at. Beside an armchair it gives you reading light in the evening.

This one goes on the wall and takes house power, so settle the position and the connection before it goes up.

What you need: The mounting hardware that comes with the light.

1. Hold the light against the wall where it goes, over the nightstand or the desk, and mark the position. The head sits at one end, so mark it with that end on the side you read from.
2. Fix it to the wall at the marks with the mounting hardware.
3. Connect it to power. Where it is wired in, have a qualified person make the connection.
4. Turn it on at the plate and angle the head toward where you read.

Good to know

• Check the height with someone sitting up in bed or at the desk before you mark the wall.
• Turn it off before you clean it, then take the dust off the plate and the head with a dry cloth. Nothing wet and nothing scouring.

• The head angles down toward the bed, so the light lands where you read.
• It also lights the wall around the fixture, which gives a bedroom a low background light in the evening.
• The controls on the plate switch the light on and off.
• At 10.6 in (27 cm) long and 2.5 in (6.5 cm) high, it fits a narrow strip of wall over a nightstand or a home office desk.
• The light is warm white at 3000K, which suits the end of the day beside the bed.
